1. Fantastical 2 (IOS + iPhone) $8.99 This is my most used app across both my iPhone and MacBook. This app completely organises my life and does so in an efficient and effective way. Fantastical makes creating events a breeze with their super easy event maker. I am literally able to type in “3pm Meeting at Mavis & Co Friday 21st Feb” and it’ll write up the event for me without having to fiddle around and select the correct day, place or time. It also enables me to find the addresses for my events and schedule travel time between appointments according to my location. Shared calendars are a breeze too - so great for the family calendar. There is also an icon which sits in your top bar on your laptop so you can view you calendar on the go! This app is truly an essential! 2. Focus Keeper (iPhone) Free This app is based around a technique called ‘The Pomodoro Method’ which recommends breaking up periods of study into 20-25 minute slots with 5 minute breaks in between. After 4 blocks of work, it’s then recommended that you take a longer break of approximately 20-30 minutes. This app is the perfect way to guide yourself to work by the pomodoro method. You can design how you want the sets to work so you can custom design your study session. Having personally used this method, I’ve found it amazing to keep me focused and working productively. With the breaks, I’ve also been encourage to get moving in my 5 minute breaks, to grab snacks or refill my water bottle. This app literally encourages me to study well! 3. Evernote Scannable (iPhone) Free I’m super lazy when it comes to scanning documents. However, it always annoys me how many times I’m asked to scan documents once I’ve signed them and then email them. So let’s not waste any time by having to get the printer/scanner going. Just flick out your Evernote app and you’re able to instantly grab a clear, colour-strong photograph scan of the document. The camera will automatically crop out the background and then give you the ability to save, email, airdrop, post to facebook, message and so much more! Check it out today and just me, it’ll make signing documents and replying to emails so much easier. 4. Waze (Android & iPhone) Free Let’s not waste any time getting from place to place. Waze has become our go-to maps and directions app. It’s super easy to use and really reliable. It finds addresses in your calendar and automatically schedules in your travel time, notifying you when it’s the best time to leave! You can set important locations like ‘Work’ or ‘Home’ so it’ll tell you exactly how to get home from wherever you are. It also gives you super accurate arrival times and enables you to send an eta to the person you’re going to meet. This app is perfect for day-to-day jobs and effectively gets you through your day. 5. Stylebook (iPhone) $6.99 Prevent yourself from ever having difficulty picking out an outfit in the morning. This app enables you to plan, prepare and organise your outfits ahead of time so it’s super easy to pick out your clothes in the morning. Considering I’m starting university this year, this app is going to be even more useful in enabling me to pick out a great outfit every morning. Simply upload a photo of each item in your wardrobe and then make up your outfits by adding your images together. You can schedule your outfits using their calendar feature and plan future packing lists too! Be sure to check out some of these apps and let them revolutionise the way you smash out your daily to-do list. Whether they transform how you get from A to B, or help reduce the thought process of putting together an outfit in the morning, these app are definitely worth a shot!
