Podcasts are a great way to incorporate learning opportunities into your daily routine. Whether you listen to them in the shower, on your daily commute or on your evening walk, I often pick podcasts over music because it feels like a really productive way to spend my time. Some nights, when I’m struggling to sleep, I’ve found that podcasts are a great way to distract your mind from stressing about the day to come, or over-thinking the day that was. Below, I’ve listed 6 podcasts which I’ve found helpful depending on what mood, or what scenario I’m listening to them in. Check it out!
If you haven’t listened to a podcast before, you’ve probably at least heard someone say, ‘I’ve been listening to this podcast which has been talking…’ It’s a pretty common thing, mostly because podcasts are so available and there are so many out there to choose from! When I first took a scroll through the Apple Podcast app, I was rather overwhelmed by all the options! It seems like every man and his dog has a podcast about something.

After dabbling in many podcasts, these are the few which I constantly fall back upon. While there are some that upload daily, there are others that upload episodes once a week perhaps, so I just pop in and listen when I’m taking a longer drive than usual, or am heading out for a walk and am bored of my current playlist.

Check out my favourites below!

If you’re someone who likes quick boosts of motivation, short-sharp but useful techniques to better organise yourself and wants it in less than 15 minutes.

Check out The Daily Boost by Scott Smith
Available on Apple Podcasts & Spotify
Upload: At least once a week
I love listening to this on my drive to university. Each episode usually centred around productivity and success. They are quick, punchy, and I’m sure you’ll have something to take out of each podcast. This is great if you love having a little motivation to make something great out of every day.

If you’re someone who likes to centre themselves and meditate first thing in the morning.

Check out The Daily Breath with Deepak Chopra
Available on Apple Podcasts & Spotify
Upload: Daily

This is a wonderful way to start your day. Deepak Chopra is an Indian-born American author, public speaker, and alternative medicine advocate. I’ve you’ve read any of his amazing books, you’ll know that he’s seriously intelligent and thoughtful. His new podcast, The Daily Breath, is compromised of short 5-10 minute videos each with a daily intention including love, physical well-being, happiness, and gratitude. Pop this on just after you wake up! Every Friday, there is a longer meditation episode (approx. 15 minutes) to really centre you for the weekend.

Usually centred around getting the most out of every day, daily rituals, and mental-wellbeing, this podcast is a great way to hear from the self-help gurus which likely author the books you love to read. Each episode is approximately an hour long, so if perfect for that morning walk or afternoon stroll. One of her most popular episodes is with Dr. Libby Weaver discussing finding purpose, trusting your instincts and creating healthy habits!

This power couple made up of health and fitness YouTuber ‘Sarah’s Day’ and her personal trainer boyfriend ‘Kurt Tilse’ have recently had their first child.
