Everyone loves that Spring Clean feeling, it’s like getting into bed with fresh sheets. However, everyone seems to dread the process of decluttering, detoxing and reorganising the home. We’ve simplified the process into a ‘Spring Cleaning’ Printable so you can easily tick off each task as you go. Check out the printable and our Spring Cleaning tips below! Download your Spring Cleaning Printable here or check it out on our Printables Page here. Tip 1: Work inside out Getting something like the windows done first is a great way to get an instant sense of gratification which will inspire you to continue. To re-inspire yourself, simply look out your gorgeously clean windows! Don’t forget to get the entire family involved to help speed up the process and remember to clean your windows on an overcast day (or just start on the windows which aren’t facing the sun first). Bonus Tip: for a toxic-free window cleaner, simply combine water and white vinegar in 50/50 portions and mix to combine. Spray using an old spray bottle and wipe clean with newspaper or a microfibre cloth. Tip 2: Make your own cleaning products! Reduce the number of toxins and chemicals in your home and make your own cleaning products. Using essential oils is a great way to use natural scents and gain the benefits too. Check out our blog post here with all of our DIY recipes! Tip 3: Get a disposal plan in place
If you’re planning on decluttering, be sure to organise a system to dispose of your unwanted goods. For clothing, consider dropping your unwanted goods to your local opshop. Opshops also may accept other unwanted goods like furniture, plates, kitchenware, and linen. For more information about mindful disposal systems, check out our blog post here. Tip 4: Learn about the Konmari Method We covered this in our Junk Free June workbook, which I would recommend checking out if you’re looking into spring cleaning. The Konmari Method is all about decluttering with joy in mind, ensuring that you only keep the items in your home which bring you joy. Konmari also covers the art of folding, and how vertical storage is the most efficient way of saving space in your home! Check out the Junk Free June workbook here or for more information about Konmari, check out the Netflix series “Tidying Up with Marie Kondo”. Tip 5: If you can’t dedicate a weekend, dedicate a time slot daily! If you’re unable to find a full weekend, be sure to dedicate a time slot to spring cleaning daily to help tackle your list. This may just be a 30-45 minute interval during which you try to tick off as many tasks as possible! Tip 6: Declutter first, then clean It’s easier to clean a decluttered home. So get the decluttering process done first and cleaning will be so much easier not only in spring but for the remainder of the year! We’ll be completing the spring cleaning process too! Be sure to let up know how your process goes and how much you enjoy the results! Remember to grab your free Spring Cleaning printable below! From our home to yours,
