These DIY recipes are handy because they’re simple, and easy to whip up when required. However, to simplify the process even more here is a list of laundry essentials that we recommend having on hand when a stain or washing disaster hits!

  1. White Vinegar: this is a great ingredient if you’re looking for a natural alternative to fabric softener. Pop 1/2 cup into your washing machine for general fabric softening or specifically if you’re looking to soften a new pair of jeans, or revitalise stiff towels. Check out our comprehensive list of other vinegar hacks by checking out this blog post LINK. White vinegar is also great for removing general stains including sweat marks from underarms, collars and cuffs. White vinegar is also great at deodorising and removing odours from clothing.
  2. Dish Soap: this is a DIY stain removal essential!
  3. Hydrogen Peroxide: ideal for body based stains (protein based)
  4. Ammonia: while we aren’t big fans of harsh chemicals, ammonia is a great product for stain removal especially tough stains. You can usually source this from your local supermarket!
  5. Rags: perfect for dabbing on stain removal solutions!
  6. Essential Oils: whether you’re a lover of lavender, or a sucker for lemon essential oils are awesome for the laundry too! Add a few drops to you machine for perfectly scented laundry!
  7. Scent Booster: check out this DIY  for our natural (essential oil scented) scent booster which is great to throw into a load of towels or sheets.

Some people prefer going to laundry shops or washing services near them. Specially winter, where our clothes cannot be dried using sunlight so we are left with the using drying machines too. So double the use of machines means higher electricity bills. Anyway, these tips are handy indeed. Great job.
